Door-to-Door Bus Services are bus routes that in the main operate once a week with the added benefit of collecting and dropping off passengers where possible at their homes. These services require pre-booking with our office 047 51840, ideally a few days before travelling.

This Service offers great peace of mind to passengers living in rural areas who might otherwise have no way to access public transport and the freedom it brings. For more information on the areas currently covered visit the services page of this website.

Regular Rural Bus Services operate on a fixed route between towns and villages and have a scheduled timetable, just like any other public transport bus service.

These services are frequently used by local residents, commuters, students and tourists alike. For more information about these services including route maps and timetables please visit the timetable page on this website.

It costs €3 for a single and €5.50 for a return. Free Travel Pass is also accepted on our Door-to-Door services.

How much does a ticket on Daily Bus Service (Regular Rural Service) cost?2022-04-25T14:30:30+01:00

The daily service routes have a wide range of prices and ticket types. You can purchase an Adult, Student, or Child ticket; Single, Return & Weekly tickets are available, under 5’s and Free Travel Pass holders go free. You can view the Minimum/ Maximum fares for each service on the timetable page of this website or call us on 047 51840 for more information.

Can anyone travel on Local Link Door-to-Door & Regular Rural Services?2021-06-17T10:31:00+01:00

Yes these are public transport services, everyone can travel on these routes. On Door-to-Door services you will need to call us to book a seat, contact us on 047 51840

Yes,  you have to book a seat on all of our Door-to-Door services. To reserve a seat please contact us on 047 51840

Only on a Door-to-Door service, the driver where possible will pick you up and return you to your home address. To book a seat please contact us on 047 51840

 

 

I am a wheelchair user or passenger with limited mobility am I able to access your buses?2023-11-21T09:45:00+00:00

The majority of our vehicles are wheelchair accessible. Please contact the office on 047 51840 to pre-book a wheelchair/ mobility assist request. All drivers have received passenger assist training.

Not at the moment, normal non-foldable bikes cannot be taken on any of our bus routes.

Yes all of you daily bus services operate a reduced timetable on Sunday’s or Bank Holiday’s. To view or download the Sunday & Bank Holiday timetables please go to the timetable section of this website.

Call the office on 047 51840 with your Eircode and we will check our existing routes, our Door-to-Door services are demand response and if we can divert an existing route to your address, we will.

Yes our drivers are aware of Jam cards and will be patient and allow you extra time.

Can I take my child’s pushchair/ buggy on the bus?2022-08-22T12:14:05+01:00

Yes, if there is a designated space available, priority will be given to wheelchair users. The pushchair/ buggy must be folded down & stored safely. Please contact the office on 047 51840 to check if the service has space on the day you wish to travel.

Please note a child of 3 years of age or more occupying a seat is required by law to wear a safety belt or an appropriate child restraint system. The Road Safety Authority recommend that where possible, parents provide child car seats for their children when travelling by bus.

Can I take my pet on the bus?2023-04-25T12:31:29+01:00

Guide dogs and Assistance dogs accompanying passengers are permitted to travel on all Local Link services free of charge and without restriction.  An Assistance dog must be clearly identifiable either by coat or harness to distinguish it as a working dog and not a pet.   Apart from the foregoing exceptions, dogs, cats or any other animals or live fowl of any description WILL NOT be carried.

  • TFI GO App can be used to purchase tickets on our daily services, download the TFI GO app from the App Store or Google play
