- Leap Cards can now be used on TFI Local Link Cavan Monaghan Daily services.
- Leap Card fares are cheaper than cash fares, the Leap Card can be used to purchase single or 7-day Leap fares on the C1, C2, C3, M1, M2, M3, 929 and 176 routes.
Young Adult and Student Card
Enjoy 50% savings on Leap fares on TFI network services, with the new Young Adult (age 19-23) and Student Leap Card (age 24+):
- The Young Adult (19-23) Leap Card is available to all 19 to 23 year old’s right up to their 24th birthday.
- The Student Leap Card remains available to students in full-time education who are 24 years old and above. If you already have a Student Leap Card you’ll get the 50% reduction straight away without having to apply for a new Young Adult Leap Card (19-23). Just use your Student Leap Card as normal.
Applying for a Young Adult Card

- Your Date of Birth – The National Transport Authority need to check you are eligible for the card.
- Personal Data – The National Transport Authority need your name, surname to print on the card, address to post it and email to communicate with you.
- Payment – You will be required to pay €5 deposit and a minimum €5 travel credit.
- Documents – You will be required to upload an image displaying the full ID (passport/EU/EEA ID/ Driving licence/ Learner permit). Make sure your name D.O.B and photo are clearly displayed.
- Selfie – You will be required to activate your camera to take a live selfie. The National Transport Authority will print this photo on your card so be ready!
- Confirmation – You will receive a confirmation email with an order reference to track your card.
- Card Collection – Your card will then be posted to the address you provided for the application within 3 -5 working days.
