Job Description – Financial Administrator Assistant

Local Link Cavan Monaghan (Cavan Monaghan Transport Coordination Unit CLG) are responsible for managing rural passenger transport on behalf of the National Transport Authority. Local Link Cavan Monaghan require an experienced and well organised Financial Administrator Assistant, for a part time, fixed term contract based in their office in Clones Co. Monaghan.

Employment Terms: Fixed Term to June 2022
Part time:       21 hours per week

Essential Criteria

  • Minimum Leaving Certificate/QQI Level 5 Administration Experience of using ‘Surf’ Accounting software (or similar) in a business environment
  • Experience Month End Processing and reporting
  • Experience in Debtor/Creditor control, Bank reconciliations, journals and reporting
  • MS Excel proficiency

Desirable Criteria

  • Finance/Business qualification
  • Knowledge of Bus Passenger transport sector

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Administration and processing of accounts receivable and accounts payable
  • Liaise with external organisations on submission of invoices
  • Preparation of approval reports for contracted agencies
  • Monthly Bank reconciliations
  • Preparation of month end reports and completion of diligence checks on supplier submissions
  • Input of invoices to accounting system
  • Contribute to internal reporting requirements including the preparation of operational reports and management updates
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements
  • Liaising with customers and auditors and responding to their queries in a comprehensive and timely manner
  • Assist with ad hoc project requirements throughout other areas

Key Requirements

  • Practical experience in using Surf accounting Software or similar
  • Strong interpersonal skills – competent to work effectively both within a team structure and independently to take ownership of designated tasks
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills and demonstrate great attention to detail
  • Ability to identify and resolve issues in a timely manner and working to meeting strict deadlines
  • Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise
  • Reliable, dependable and flexible
